Questions Christians ask about faith-based financial planning.
From how Biblically Responsible Investing works to what a Christian financial advisor actually does, answers to the questions we hear most often.
What is Biblically Responsible Investing and how is it different from ESG?
BRI applies a biblical values framework to investment screening, excluding companies that profit from abortion, pornography, and similar activities. ESG investing uses a secular values framework that often arrives at opposite conclusions. They are not the same approach with a different name.
Does biblical financial planning mean giving up investment performance?
Not according to the research. A 2015 University of Oxford meta-analysis of 190 studies found that strong ethical governance practices were associated with improved financial performance in the majority of studies reviewed. BRI and competitive returns are not in conflict.
What does a Christian financial advisor do differently than a conventional advisor?
A Christian financial advisor integrates biblical stewardship principles into the full financial planning conversation, not just investments. That includes giving, debt, retirement planning, and estate planning through the lens of Scripture and your personal convictions.
How do I find out what my current portfolio is actually invested in?
A portfolio impact review runs your current holdings through a biblical values analysis and shows you exactly which companies you own, what they do, and how they score. We offer this on a complimentary basis for prospective clients.
